Constantly updated lists of jazz, r&b, and salsa. I look for historical significance, themes, comparisons, and just enjoyability in my selections. One week I'll weight it more toward jazz, the next salsa, and the next r&b.
I'm more interested in finding connections within the music--music that gives you a sense of its time and place. I play a lot of current music, but also like to dial it back to show how an artist develops over time.
